Premier Marinas require all non-tenant contractors to obtain a permit before beginning work on a Premier Marinas site - regardless of whether you have previously visited the marina. In order to reduce the time it takes to issue your permit we require that you complete either a Permit to Work or Permit to Access application ahead of visiting the Premier marina where you are intending to work.
Permit to Work - applicable to contractors carrying out ‘one off’ contracts, or for work that would be deemed high risk e.g. 'hot works';
Permit to Access - valid for one year and is suitable for contractors who frequently carry out similar low risk works at one or several marinas.
Once you have completed your application you will then need to email it to the Marina Reception together with the information shown below:
Information to be submitted with your application
- A copy of your public liability insurance (minimum cover five million pounds)
- A copy of your risk assessment and method statement for the proposed work(s). For assistance with your risk assessments please follow this link for guidance and for example templates for your use click here.
- A copy of your Gas Safe registration (where appropriate)
- Written authorisation from the boat owner to draw keys and gain access to their vessel.
Submitting your application
Once you have compiled all of the information required, click on the appropriate link to email your application to the marina: Eastbourne, Brighton, Chichester, Southsea, Port Solent, Gosport, Swanwick, Noss on Dart, Falmouth.
Once your paperwork has been approved by one of our managers your permit will be authorised and works may commence.
With your application completed and emailed to the Marina Reception for processing you will then be required to pay for your permit at the Marina Reception. Permit charges are £7.50 per day, £45 per month and £399 per annum (all prices quoted exclude VAT). Once issued, your permit may be used for its duration at any Premier site but you must sign in at the Marina Reception each time you visit and you will be asked to display your permit at all times.
Premier is pleased to allow registered non-tenant contractors to use our sites, provided that they comply with our Marina Regulations and so we ask that you and your representatives take the time to read them. To view the regulations for the marina you intend to visit click here.
